Ce cursus exigeant va offrir aux élèves l’opportunité de suivre un enseignement renforcé en langue et civilisation américaines, à travers l'étude de la littérature et de l’histoire-géographie de ce pays, en langue anglaise.

Au-delà des cours, cette section veut constituer un espace de découverte et d’échanges interculturels. Elle permettra aux élèves de développer une compréhension approfondie des sociétés et des cultures des deux rives de l'Atlantique.

Dès à présent, ils ont commencé à construire leur identité collective en se choisissant un nom de promotion : Marilyn Monroe. Figure emblématique, elle incarne à travers les combats de sa vie une réflexion sur l’égalité raciale et de genre, mais aussi sur les enjeux de santé mentale.

Avec cette nouvelle section, le lycée affirme  donc sa volonté de promouvoir l’ouverture internationale et d’offrir aux élèves l’occasion d’acquérir des connaissances solides et des compétences linguistiques de très haut niveau.

One of the highlights of this new school year is the launch of the American Section of the French International Baccalaureate (BFI) at Colbert High School.

This rigorous program will give students the opportunity to pursue an advanced curriculum in American language and civilization, through the study of this country’s literature and history-geography.

Beyond the classroom, the section is designed to be a space for discovery and intercultural exchange. It will enable students to develop a deeper understanding of the societies and cultures on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

They have already begun to build their collective identity by choosing a promotion name: Marilyn Monroe. As an iconic figure, she embodies through the struggles she faced a reflection on racial and gender equality, as well as the issues of mental health.

With this new section, Colbert High School reaffirms its commitment to promoting international openness and to providing students with the opportunity to acquire solid knowledge and top-level language skills.
